Ventis Vocal Ensemble is a versatile vocal ensemble dedicated to creating engaging and imaginative performances that connect with audiences across a wide range of venues and communities. Currently with 5 fixed members, Ventis acts as a collective, with the ensemble ranging from 3–6 singers depending on the concert and the concert programme.

The ensemble has performed in churches, concert halls, pubs, and community spaces, adapting its programmes to suit the character of each venue and audience. Equally comfortable in formal concert settings and more informal environments, Ventis seeks to make high-quality vocal music accessible to listeners of all backgrounds and levels of musical experience.

Alongside traditional static performances, the ensemble frequently develops immersive concert experiences incorporating movement, narrative elements, and simple props. These performances encourage audiences to engage with music in new ways, allowing repertoire and story to unfold together within the performance space.

The central aspect of Ventis' artistic identity is the exploration of folk music and traditional song. Ensemble members regularly create original vocal arrangements inspired by regional traditions and archival material, enabling the group to present distinctive programmes shaped by both historical sources and contemporary creativity.

Collaboration also plays an important role in the ensemble's work. Ventis has worked with local artists and composers to develop new repertoire, including a commission created in partnership with the Valette Ensemble and a Manchester-based composer. Through these collaborations, the ensemble actively contributes to the development of new vocal music while championing local creative voices.

Whether performing in a historic sacred space, a concert hall, or a community venue, Ventis Vocal Ensemble aims to create memorable musical experiences that combine artistic excellence with accessibility, imagination, and meaningful audience connection.
